IsarMUN Committees

Committees
Hoping for an increasing awareness of current and most pressing global issues, the IsarMUN team 2009 established three committees to address possible solutions and possibilities for change. Please note our remarks regarding your Preparation for IsarMUN 2009.

UNFCCC United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change
Right before the Climate Conference IsarMUN 2009 will pre-simulate the conference centered on global natural environment. The UNFCCC Climate Change conference will negotiate a "new international framework to combat Climate Change", hopefully replacing the Kyoto Protocoll and addressing one of the most dangerous challenges of the 21st century. If the international community acts now and with decisive cuts on greenhouse gas emissions, there is still room to avoid the most severe consequences.
The negotiated result (the climate change treaty) will be presented at the "real" Copenhagen Climate Change Conference COP-15 which takes place right after IsarMUN as an input from students on what is possible to achieve, given the countries positions.

Paricipating will be the following countries:

Afghanistan, Algeria, Angola, Antigua and Barbuda, Argentina, Australia, Austria, Azerbaijan, Bahamas, Barbados, Belgium, Belize, Benin, Bhutan, Bolivia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Botswana, Brazil, Brunei Darussalam, Bulgaria, Burundi, Cambodia, Cameroon, Canada, Cape Verde, Central African Republic, Chad, Chile, China, Colombia, Congo, Costa Rica, Cuba, Cyprus, Democratic People's Republic of Korea, Denmark, Djibouti, Dominica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Egypt, El Salvador, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Estonia, Ethiopia, Fiji, Finland, France, Gabon, Gambia, Germany, Ghana, Greece, Grenada, Guatemala, Guinea, Guyana, Haiti, Honduras, Hungary, Iceland, India, Indonesia, Iran (Islamic Republic of), Ireland, Israel, Italy, Jamaica, Japan, Jordan, Kenya, Kuwait, Kyrgyzstan, Lao People's Democratic Republic, Latvia, Lebanon, Lesotho, Liberia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Madagascar, Malawi, Malaysia, Maldives, Mali, Malta, Marshall Islands, Mauritius, Mexico, Micronesia (Federated States of), Mongolia, Montenegro, Morocco, Mozambique, Myanmar, Namibia, Nepal, Netherlands, New Zealand, Nicaragua, Niger, Nigeria, Niue, Norway, OmanPanama, Paraguay, Peru, Philippines, Poland, Portugal, Qatar, Republic of Korea, Republic of the Congo, Romania, Russian Federation, Rwanda, Saint Lucia, Samoa, Saudi Arabia, Senegal, Seychelles, Sierra Leone, Singapore, Solomon Islands, South Africa, Spain, Sri Lanka, Sudan, Suriname, Swaziland, Sweden, Switzerland, Syrian Arab Republic, Tajikistan, Thailand, Togo, Trinidad and Tobago, Tunisia, Uganda, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, United Republic of Tanzania, United States of America, Uruguay, Vanuatu, Venezuela, Vietnam,Yemen, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Bangladesh, Tuvalu, Palau, CAN (Climate Action Network), Greenpeace, Amnesty International, European Union, World Bank, UNEP, UNDP and IPCC.
